Truly, diabetics are sweet. And so is their saliva, when the diabetes is not under control. This leads to higher-than-usual levels of glucose in the saliva, and this means a higher risk of dental decay. And we know what dental bills can be like, eh?

What to do? Easy. Keep your teeth and gums healthy. Visit your dentist regularly for a check up. Prevention is less painful than cure. Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. And if you remember to floss, you get extra brownie points because you did yourself a very BIG favor.
